Forgive me for slacking.

When you're planning a wedding,

working two jobs,

and just trying to find a moment to see your fiance,

blogging gets put on the back burner.

But here is a quick update on things.

First I left my job at Maurices.

It was hard, and I have been sad about it,

but I know it was for the best.

Second I started working at Wingers.

It has been a huge blessing.

It may be hard because I rarely have nights free

but I am so grateful for this job.

We were featured on our photographers website.

Our engagement session was so much fun.

We went to the International Peace Gardens

and just enjoyed the nice weather.

It was the only day that week that didn't rain,

so we really lucked out!

Lindsey has been such a fun photographer to work with.

I have been so happy to have her.

We are down to 2 weeks left before the wedding!!!

2 WEEKS PEOPLE!!!

I am so happy we had the length of engagement we've had.

I needed this time to make sure everything was done,

and to just enjoy being engaged.

But now I am ready to be a wife.

To share a home with Nick.

And to start our life together.

I'll try to post soon.

But if I don't get back until July,

don't be too shocked.

But I have a treat for you today.

Nick and I had some engagement pictures taken a few weeks ago,

and they turned out SO GOOD!

Our good friend, and kind-of-sort-of sister-in-law, Krista

took them for us in Salt Lake.

She did a great job and it was fun to take them with her because she made us feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera.

The only down side to this experience was the fact that it was FREEZING!!!!

I mean to the point that I couldn't move my fingers or toes.

But it was worth it.

It's Thursday,
which on this blog means it's time for some
Awkward & Awesome lists!

I always enjoy reading her lists,
because who doesn't have those moments in their own life?

So here is my first attempt at this:

Awkward:

Helping someone I know at Maurices, but I can not remember their name. So I refer to them as hun, hoping they wont call me out on it, or anything that way.
I may share the same birthday as Marilyn Monroe, but I don't enjoy having the whole skirt blown up, hand holding it down pose happening that she made famous. Unfortunately the wind decided it needed to blow this morning and I was on main street....I'm sure you can figure out the rest.
Talking to someone who has something in their nose. But you don't know them well enough to say they have something in their nose, so you do the whole wipe your nose bit hoping they will get the hint and wipe their nose.
Answer the phone saying, "American National this is Laurie." Then realizing I am at Maurices, not American National. Happens way to often.
Picking out a quilt from my Grandma's house (it's a wedding gift, and it was way to hard of a decision), narrowing things down by saying, "I'm not really a fan of pink." Then my fiance looks at my Grandpa who is wearing a pink shirt. I love you Grandpa, and the fact that you have always worn pink shirts, my whole life.
Shopping for a swimsuit.
Watching a movie at the SVC with my fiance, his brothers and their friends. They were all in the balcony, we were down below. Perfect time for a make-out right? (don't judge, we are engaged after all...) Well apparently some of his employee's found that the perfect time to come in and ask him some questions. Then proceeded to act like absolutely nothing had happened, which almost just makes it more awkward! So happy the auditorium was dark so they couldn't see just how red my cheeks were right then.
Walking with a limp from my stupid hip after crashing while long boarding.
Cleaning my bathroom, singing at the top of my lungs and dancing around, thinking I am alone, then turn and see my brother standing there. Hi Keldon, don't mind my awesome moves. Never mind, this one just might be both awkward and awesome.

Now for the Awesome:

Going long boarding with my fiance. Watching him have no fear with it is so much fun because he is completely in his element.
Also crashing while long boarding and getting some sweet bruises. I love bruises, always have, always will.
Finding a wedding dress!
Having a fiance. And being able to call him that. It's a fun word to say.
Getting more hours at work.
Being able to wear skirts and dresses again without freezing my legs off.
Dancing around my room with my nephew as I get ready in the morning.
My niece telling me I look beautiful. When it comes from a 4 year old, you know it's true.
Being able to buy wedding magazines, and discuss all things wedding because it is finally official!

I Think I Wanna Marry You!

IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!

I got engaged on Friday, February 11th!

He was so cute with planning everything out.

When I came out from work on Friday there was an empty vase on my car

and a CD that said "The Journey of Love."

I put the CD in and it was Nick telling me that I was going on a scavenger hunt!

He then had placed some of my favorite songs on the CD and gave me directions to my next destination.

On the drive there he told me cute memories or reasons why he loves me.

(How sweet is he? I am one lucky girl!)

I had a few stops where I found a new CD and 3 roses at each one.

First was Amanda's house,

Then Keldon's house,

Then Jim's house,

Then my house.

After that I had to find his brother who gave me a ride to my final destination.

Nick was waiting for me at a look out over Richfield where we go often to talk.

When I got there he led me down a path of rose petals,

up onto some of the rocks,

got down on one knee and proposed.

My response was YES!!!! OF COURSE!!!!

Funny side note: Once we were up on the rocks,

but before he got down on one knee he told me to check his pockets.

For the last few weeks every time I saw him I would playfully hit his pockets

to make sure that he didn't have my ring.

And every time he would tell me that he was going to have it in his sock.

So when he said this I checked his pockets, and they were empty.

As he knelt down he pulled the ring out of his sock.

I loved it and it made me laugh!

Another funny fact is that I was wearing 4 inch heels

and had to climb up on the rocks.

But I rocked it,

just in case you were wondering!

I loved that he had our friends Scott and Holly

there with him the whole time,

so we have some great pictures from the whole thing!

I love you Nick!

Thank you for being so amazing,

and for wanting to be with me FOREVER!

We have picked July 6th as our wedding day,

and we will be married for Time and all Eternity

in the Manti LDS Temple.

Playing catch up

Ok so much has happened in the past two months.

First I mentioned I moved.

Which I did.

I went to Salt Lake.

A place I had always wanted to move to.

I had been hired at a new job,

found a place to live,

and I was really excited for a change in my life.

I love Salt Lake, but I only stayed for 11 days.

Why did I move back so quickly?

Well you see there is this boy...

I kind of like him...

A lot...

And he was back home in Richfield.

And a week apart was enough for me (and him) to know that

I don't want to EVER be apart again.

See the thing was when I first started looking for jobs in Salt Lake

I was single,

and I was ready for a change.

Not saying I was looking for love,

but just a change of everything.

I wanted a new challenge with work.

I wanted to meet new people.

I wanted to live somewhere new.

So I started looking for jobs.

And my best friend helped me find one.

Just a customer service position,

but it was a stepping stone.

Then the exact same week that I was offered the position,

a certain Mister came back into my life.

I only really talked about dating him once on the blog.

I kept it really private.

Not just here on the blog,

but in my life.

He and I dated for a few months,

but because we live in a small town,

and didn't want all the gossip that can bring,

we kept things to ourselves.

Our close friends and our family knew,

but no one else did.

Then when we broke up I was so grateful that no one knew.

It made it a lot easier for me.

I didn't have to face so many questions that way.

I hinted at a break-up once,

and an awkward story another time.

But that was basically it.

Then a week before Christmas things changed.

We went and saw a movie together and after that

things happened pretty quick.

He came over to talk one night and

told me he wanted to get back together.

I told him I needed a few days.

When I talked with him again

I told him I had this job offer that I was going to take,

so if we were going to date

it was going to be long distance.

And he was fine with that.

But it's funny how quickly feeling return.

And after only dating for about 3 weeks this time

I knew it was right.

So I came home.

And I have spent every minute I can with him.

Oh you want to see a picture of him?

Ok, ok here it is...

Which brings me to another update.

My sister had her twins!

Meet Maylee and Ellie.

They are adorable!

And as different as twins can be.

It is so much fun!

As things keep going,

I promise I will do better at keeping this updated.

Hopefully lots of exciting changes to come! :)

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Last week I woke up to a text message from my singles ward.

That night they were holding a costume party for Halloween!

Awesome!

I love dressing up!

Only problem my original costume idea was maybe not church appropriate...

(it was better then years past, but shorts and fishnets...probably not)

So I had to think of something fast!

I went to the fabric store and picked up a few different patterns

then recruited my mom to help.

My ultimate goal:

My mom is A-MAZ-ING

and made this:

Not only did it turn out great

but I won Best Costume at the activity!

(she made both these costumes in just a few hours)

Thriller!

It was so fun to get away to St George a few weeks ago!

Angie and I went down Friday to attend the

What Woman Want Expo.

They do this twice a year and I love it!

After that we met up with Bethany for sushi.

I hadn't had any since St Thomas

when my friend Sam invited us to the Ritz

and made us so many delicious rolls!

I love sushi so it was so good to have some again!

The next day my mom and Amanda came down

and we all shopped until we dropped!

(literally...none of us wanted to walk another step)

Then that night we went to THRILLER!!!

Odyssey dance theater is so good

and I love watching them any chance I get.

One of my favorite parts of the night was seeing my friend Karolann.

Each year dancers are selected to mingle/frighten the crowd before and after the show

and they also get to join in on the final dance of the night.

She did so good!

It was so fun to see her dancing as a professional

after being on drill team with her years ago.

All and all it was a great weekend!

Working retail you sometimes forget that sometimes people don't work on the weekends

and that they can go enjoy themselves for a few days!

In the past 3 months I have only had 3 Saturdays off...

and it gets old pretty fast.

But this weekend I am going to St George with Angie!

Shopping and not having a schedule sounds so good!

My mom and Amanda will come down on Saturday

and we are all going to THRILLER!!!

So this past weekend my family lost one of my cousins. This hit me in different ways.

Shock
Sadness
And not really knowing what to do.

See here is the thing. He is my cousin, and I do love him and it is a really sad thing. But I didn't really know him. Growing up his mom never came around to family functions- so I didn't really know any of my cousins in his family- and when they did come I was to busy playing with his sister who was the one girl cousin my age! Then when I was in high school his mom passed away, then our grandma the next year, and our grandpa two years after that. I don't say this for sympathy but show how little we saw each other. Other then those 3 times I have not seen him in the past 6 years, at all. I know little details that have happened in his family, and seen a few of his family members but never him. I am so incredibly sorry to his siblings for another loss in their life. And to his wife, to become a widow so young. And I hope he is happy now. I hope he is no longer sad and feeling whatever it was that made him get to this point. I do love you Z and hope that you are happy.

Z McDonald "My Best Friend" Our beloved husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend unexpectedly left his earthly home, we miss him dearly. Z was the son of Dennis and Laurel McDonald. He was born in Salt Lake City and was the fourth of six children. He was raised in West Bountiful surrounded by three sisters and two brothers. Z graduated from Mountain High School in 2003 and began work as a lot attendant at Larry H. Miller Ford. He excelled in his employment and received many promotions; his current position was as sales manager. Z had a passion for his work. Everyone who purchased a vehicle from him or engaged with him at work left knowing they had been taken care of by a man who truly loved what he did. He worked there for seven and a-half years. Z, along with his wife and little brother, had two dogs, Daxon and Jace, he was utterly devoted to them. Z enjoyed having fun: we all have memories of tossing the football; trips to the lake; hearing him revel in stories of playing racquetball with his brother, Veto; taking his wife Lindsey for rides on the motorcycle; running, yelling, tickling, laughing, and climbing with his eight nieces and nephews. Z loved music. Music was part of his every day from singing and playing funny instruments to blasting the radio and his iPod. Z loved to watch movies with his wife and in conversation was frequently throwing movie quotes and quizzes at whomever he was engaged with. Z dated and married the love of his life, Lindsey Parkin McDonald, in August of 2005. They shared five wonderful years together. She will hold dear the memories of all the different ways he expressed his love to her and the many nick names he used to express that devotion. She greatly misses him. I love you, babe! Z was preceded in death by his parents Dennis T McDonald and Laurel B McDonald, and his grandparents. This past Saturday I went with my Singles Ward to a

BYU football game!!!

It was so much fun.

(me, Jennifer and Melissa)

I hadn't been to a football game in a few years.

It was so fun to be in the crowd

cheering and yelling and just being completely "in" the game.

(cheap seats = the very top corner of the field)

There were few awkward moments

that had nothing to do with the game itself

but in the seating arrangements

but that is a story for another day...

Oh and BYU pulled out a win

so that made it even better!

Today my sister Amanda found out the sex of her baby...

Twin Girls!!!

She was measuring big so her doctor moved the ultrasound up

to see if she was father along then they thought or to see if it was twins.

And she was right!

I am so excited.

I think Amanda is just freaking out.

But that is expected right?

They will be adorable!

I made a goal to cook every day while my parents were gone.

And even though one night I technically baked instead of cooking

I did it!

My parents will be home tonight

and so I am very proud of myself!

Tonight I made homemade pasta!

If you know me you know I love pasta,

and homemade is even better!

I used a recipe from Pioneer Woman

and it was really easy.

I love her blog, her photography and her recipe's.

Oh and the pasta was delicious!

So tonight instead of cooking

I had leftovers.

Then I made me this!

Candy Apple Dessert Squares!

I found the recipe in an old cookbook

and it sounded so good!

I went to the store and bought every ingredient for them!

They may look kind of odd

but OH MAN are they good!!!

(yes that piece missing is from me, I had to taste them!)

Just thought I would share!

They are brownies

covered in a cream cheese and caramel topping

with apple pieces and

recces peanut butter cup pieces

crumbled over the top

then drizzled with caramel!

I made a Chicken and Rice casserole,

Or learning to be one.

I have always been big on baking.

Cookies, cakes, bars... that sort of thing.

But cooking was another story.

I can make pasta, and simple easy things

that help keep someone alive at college.

But homemade items,

not the stuff from a box,

I have never been that great at.

So my mom and I have decided that needs to change.

See my mom is an awesome cook.

She can just throw random things together

and they always turn out so yummy!

This past weekend she taught me how to make a pie crust

(yes this is baking and not cooking but she is a pro at them)

and I must say, it turned out really well!

Well today my parents left to California for a few days,

but I decided that I was still going to cook

and not resort to going to a fast food place for dinner.

So I made Pizza, from SCRATCH!!!

I was pretty proud of myself.

I had never made the dough by myself before

so I was really nervous on how it was going to turn out.

But after checking on it a few times

I think it turned out really well!

I made the sauce as well.

Go me!

And touchdown on finally cooking for myself!

I ran away...

A few weeks ago I ran away.

Ok so technically I drove.

And I only left for about 2 hours.

But I left the house because well...

I NEEDED TO!

Sometimes I need me time.

But when you live with family

(and during this time it was lots of family)

you don't get me time that often.

So I ran away and decided to remember

why I love where I live again.

Last Saturday my mom and I went to Salt Lake for the day.

We attended a luncheon at a country club

(it sounds so fancy!)

went shopping at the Gateway

and then that evening we attended

Guys and Dolls!

I was so excited for this for 2 reasons:

1. I was a hotbox dancer for this play in high school

2. One of my best friends Scotty was Benny!

I love this play and this was a great production of it!

I was so impressed with most of the lead characters

but Miss Adelaide was my favorite!

(I wish I had a picture!)

She was awesome and kind of stole the whole show.

But the other best part was watching Scotty do something he loves!

(sorry this one was taken on my phone)

I have known Scotty for about 4 years now

and I knew he sang,

I knew he use to do plays in high school,

but I had never seen him perform.

He did AWESOME!!!

I was so proud!

It was also hilarious to watch him dance.

And Benny was the perfect part for him

because sometimes while he was up there

he was just being himself, not playing a part.

My mom laughed at me for laughing at him,

but I couldn't stop!

I almost hope I can go again when I am up there this weekend!

Good job Scotty!

I hope you start doing plays more often!

I was packing up 2 suitcases with the clothes and items I would need for 5 months.
I was saying goodbye to my family for 5 months.
I was picking up my best friend and driving to Salt Lake.
I was getting ready to start a week of training for a job that would take me thousands of miles away from home.
And I was scared silly.

I can't believe that a year has gone by! I was so excited to go on the biggest adventure of my life! To go to a tropical island and live in a place where I wouldn't know a single person except for my best friend Kassidy who was going with me. A place that I had only found out 3 weeks before that I would be moving to.

I had no idea what adventures would come my way. The people I would meet. The places I would visit. I am so thankful for the opportunity that I had to go there. For everything I learned about myself and the world. One year goes by so quickly!

Also another celebration that is going on today is a blog-o-versary over at Love and Happiness! To celebrate she is hosting a giveaway. Go enter and if you win I want one of the caramels! lol

Gummy Worming!

The other night I was in high school again

or maybe middle school even

but it was so much fun

My niece Lydia and my sister-in-law's

two sisters Sara and Rosie were staying at my house for the night

and I decided we needed to do something fun and adventurous

so we went Gummy Worming!

In case you don't know what this is let me explain...

1. Buy original type of gummy worms, not the sour ones

2. Get most of the said gummy worms wet, usually by putting them in your mouth

3. Flick wet gummy worms around so they get nice and sticky

4. Drive around town and find unsuspecting people or cars

5. Throw gummy worms at said people or cars

(please keep in mind we live in a very small town

where mischeif like this is not uncommon)

These girls were a blast to do this with!

I mainly was just the driver, but I got in a few good ones myself.

I also made sure we were listening to proper music

Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga and Ke$ha.

Yeah we know how to jam.

Yesterday I was having one of those days where everything was sort of setting me off.
After my nephew and I had a small episode over a snack I decided I needed to cool off.

So this is how I fixed my mood:

I made cookies with my niece Gwen for my good friends birthday.

And while we did this we watched a musical.
Yesterday's choice was The Music Man.

By the time the cookies were out of oven and the band marched down the street
I was a happy girl!

Every year Salina has a big rodeo as part of their 4th of July celebrations.

We haven't been for a while, but we decided to go this year

and I am so glad we did!

I loved it!

Almost everyone from my dad's family was there, including most of my family.

I love small town event's like this and I am so happy to live where I do!

Rodeo's are a blast

but definitely not for big animal activists...

Ha ha no worries though

no animals were hurt during this rodeo!

1. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

2. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

3. Was learning cursive really necessary?

4. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

5. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

6. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

7. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

8. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

9. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

10. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?) but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

11. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

12. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

13. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

14. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

15. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

16. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

17. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

18. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. (or look at my phone, since I dont own a watch)

While out on our porch we heard a noise in our grill

a Pot Gut was in it!

A Pot Gut resembles a Prairie Dog

and hundreds of, maybe thousands,

are out and about during June.

They are annoying little rodents that actually

are pretty smart.

They are not really scared of humans

so they are up on our deck all the time.

Some people think they are cute but

Personally though they bug...

Over Memorial Day Weekend

I went to my cabin with my family.

While there some of us made the trip over to

Skutumph

(not sure how it is spelled...)

It was really windy

and kind of cold

but still fun

(Can someone please explain why my eyes always

do this in pictures? It is annoying.)

The only fish we caught were little ones

so we threw them back.

But fishing is always a good time!

The same guy that inspired the other post

text me today.

(I had already deleted his number

but I knew it was him)

He said,"So are we just not going to talk anymore?"

My reply, "Yeah pretty much"

(I am kind of a brat, I know but he deserved that!)

He asked, "Why"

I said, "We are looking for different things.

I am done."

His response,

"K do me a favor, delete me from your phone and from your life. Maybe when you grow up you should look me up."

What? Really?

I need to grow up when you are the one saying that?

I didn't dignify this with a response.

Then about five minutes later I get this text from him

"By the way. Richfield blows a$$, and your style is horrible."

Yeah, really those were the words.

I think we are all really happy that this

My first niece turned 11 today!

Lydia Ruth!

I love this girl!

In so many ways she is the younger

sister I always wanted.

There are many similarities between us

like the same middle name

which makes us both LR.

And lots of other little things I wont bore you with.

Another thing which makes today really special

is the fact that she is the age I was

when she was born!

Memorial Day Weekend

I LOVED mine!

A few things I enjoyed:

Slept at my cabin a couple of nights
Spent quality time with my most of my family
Went fishing
Had a little target practice (which I have been wanting to do for months...not really sure why)
Went to church
Had no cell service for a few days (this is one of my favorite things about the mountains)
Yummy barbecued food
Great day at work on Monday
And did a little shopping

Really the perfect type of weekend!
And a great start to summer!

I have this love for records.

The sound of music recorded onto vinyl

is so soothing and classic to me.

Like the sound the needle makes when it touches the record,

or the turntable spinning,

I can't really explain it.

Most people who know this about me

think I am kind of wierd.

A few months ago Kassidy introduced me to a blog.

It is called NieNieDialogues

and it is amazing.

Stephanie Nielson is a wife and mother who was in a

plane crash that left most of her body burned back in 2008.

Her blog is usually just short little updates about the small things in life.

Playing with her kids, making breakfast, taking care of the house,

but with each one she helps remind everyone that these are the most

important things in life, being with your family.

Well now she has done a video with Mormon Messages on YouTube

about this new life of hers.

It SOLD!!!

So I listed my car on KSL this morning

(right after I posted my earlier blog post)

and within 5 minutes I was already having phone calls!

In less then 1 hour I had well over

20 calls from different people

plus over 200 page views on KSL!

I had two people who kept saying

they would pay me more

and finally I had to just say

the other people were already

on their way with cash, so its a done deal!

I sold it for $600 more then I listed it even.

Which is crazy to me!

It is kind of odd...

I loved that car!

And it has been in my family

for 10 years.

That is almost half of my life!

There was a time when I practically

lived in that thing!

(no really I did, shoes, make-up, clothes,

everything could be found in there!)

I know that I wanted it gone

and to get a new one

but I am still kind of sad to see it go.

Oh well guess its time for a new one!

I am looking for a new car!

My car has been such a good car,

and I have loved driving her,

but all good things must come to an end.

She has 220,000 miles

and need new tires in order to register her...

I am trying to sell her for a great price

and I know that someone will love her!

(and really she would be the perfect

run around town car for maybe a high-schooler?)

So this all means I am looking for a new car for me!

I never told you my story

I just realized I never told you my story of why my hips hurt so bad!

I think it is pretty funny

so I hope you will too!

A few weeks ago a good friend sent me a text asking if I wanted to go for a four wheeler ride.

I love stuff like that so I said that sounded great!

Well when I got to his house he said we could take a four wheeler or the go-cart.

I had never been in a go-cart before

so I picked that one!

It was so much fun.

He is one of those guys that makes everything so fun,

and will just go kind of crazy with things,

but I know the whole time that even though he is driving

a little bit crazy,

I am perfectly safe.

Well we were a few miles out when we stopped for a minute

and he realized he didn't have his cell phone anymore!

Mine is a touch screen so I had left it at his house

so it wouldn't break.

We drove back and looked around for it

but couldn't see it so gave up and

hoped that it was just at his house.

We went back out and he let me drive a little and it was so much fun.

Then we started going off road a little bit

and decided to take this tunnel that goes under the freeway.

Well about 3/4 of the way through

the go-cart DIED!!!

Great....

So we pushed it back to the side we came in from

and all we could do was start walking home.

It was hilarious.

I had no problem walking back

(which was around 6 miles)

and it was the perfect chance to talk

and get to know each other better.

When we got to his home

we immediately got in the truck,

loaded up the four-wheeler on the trailer

and headed back to get the go-cart.

As soon as we got out of the truck where

the go-cart was I knew I was in trouble.

Side note: I have had bad hips for years.

When I use to dance I would have to have another girl stand on my legs to help pop them so I could do everything the way I was supposed to.

So why I didn't think a 6 mile walk over a

bumpy, rocky road with hills wouldn't affect them

I don't know.

Anyway the muscles cooled when I was sitting in

the truck and as much as it hurt

I was not about to admit that

I was DYING from pain!

So I was a trouper.

I helped unload the four wheeler

hooked up the cables so we could jump the go-cart

and walked along that bumpy road for a little bit all over again!

Then to top the evening off

we were spot-lighted by a cop from the freeway

and pulled over once we were back in town!

So yeah needless to say

It was a very eventful night!

But it was great!

I would do it all again,

even if it means I cant walk the next day!

Realization

I am the girl:

that will pick the accoustic version of a song over the real one every time
that gets bored of her hair so often that no one knows what my natural hair color is (not even me anymore! Although I think it is a light brown now...)
wears high heels 7 days a week, even if my feet are killing me, because I like how I feel in them
speaks her mind, good or bad, and I dont feel bad for that
will notice the song playing in a store, even if there are 50 other people talking around me
prefers Pepsi, but I will drink Coke just as easily
loves dressing up in dresses because it makes me feel girly and like I am back in time
wishes life was a Musical, because who doesn't want everyone to break into the perfect song and dance?
who doesn't enjoy hiking, but the mountains are my favorite place in the world
loves the sun, but hates what it does to my skin

So lately I have been obsessed with

Eric Hutchinson.

I first saw him live when he opened for One Republic

January 2008.

I finally downloaded the full album last week,

and I have yet to take it out of my car.

It is so good!

And this song has been one of my favorites.

I realized that I am not the best speller in the world.

Not sure when I first realized this
Maybe it was during 5th grade when my class
was using the 3rd grade spelling book.

Either way I was bad then,

Yesterday was a bad day

Work was super busy,

busy as in all 3 phone lines ringing

and I was the only person at the office!

Besides everything else that had to be done.

Then I also had a few personal issues,

that I wont bore you with all the issues

but lets just say it was to the point

that I was crying when I got home from work.

Then I saw a package on my bed.

And it made things so much better!

As many of you already know

I wear this hair piece all the time...

This beautiful and unique hairpiece was made by the

fabulous Princess Lasertron

(also known as Megan Hunt)!

I have been following her blog for

just over a year,

and I never get tired of it!

She has one of the best eyes for details,

and has created an awesome company that

I am in love with!

Well back to my story...

I contacted her a few weeks ago

about making me some new hair pieces,

and they came yesterday!!!

I love, Love, LOVE them!

Peach, Lavender and Purple

It helped make my day better,

and eased the amount of

retail therapy I did as well!

Unfortunately for me,

I have to work at Maurices for most of the day.

So I can only go barefoot for part of the day.

But I am wearing my Toms

to work to show my support!

I have issues with shipping and delivering services.

Last week UPS and I had problems.

This week it is the United States Post Office...again!

First let me just say, this is not the first time that I have not been the biggest fan of the post office.

It started quite some time ago.

Dont believe me?

Heres a list to prove that they are dumb:

If my car is within 5 feet of our mail box, they wont stop to deliever the mail! Even if it is not directly in front of it, and they have plenty of space to get to it, they wont!
Every time I go in there to send something, this one lady treats me like I dont know anything. She talks down to me, she glares at me through her glasses, the whole bit. But the moment I go in there with my dad or brother or anyone else, she is all smiles and really helpful. What the crap did I ever do to you lady?
The very first package my mom sent to St. Thomas took 23 days! Seriously? How does it take 23 days to get 1 package? My roommates all got packages that were sent after mine, before me.
My friend sent me a Christmas package to St. Thomas. He sent it on December 6th, it got to St. Thomas on January 18th. I left St. Thomas on January 2nd. Sweet thanks post office for sucking again! Luckily Laura was so sweet and sent it to me in Utah, minus a few of the treats that had gone bad in the time it took to get to me in the first place.

Then today just added to the list. I go there to mail 2 things. Simple things that would take at the very longest 5 minutes. When I get in there no one else is there. In the time it took me to write down the addresses, 2 people were in line. 2 people no big deal right? Wrong! The other lady that works at the local post office is so slow that it took over 20 minutes to help these 2 women! 20 minutes! One of them only had 1 item she was mailing! Grrrr...

So basically thanks USPS for wasting my time

again and again and again!

1. I slept in

2. Listened to General Conference

(which is held twice a year for my church)
3. Had a great Easter dinner with my parents and brothers family's

4. Rolled Easter Eggs

5. Made Caramel Popcorn

6. Chilled with Amanda's family
7. And watched the first Yankees game of the year!

(which was against the Red Sox besides! Great start to the year!)

Really could day get much better?

Lately I have noticed people using a lot of terms

that just rub me the wrong way.

Dont get me wrong its fine to use abreviations,

or have nick-names for people or things,

but sometimes it is best to keep them to yourself

or to the person who shares those feelings,

not post them pubicly on Facebook.

Sorry to anyone who uses these terms,

they are lame!

Please refrain from using them around me.

My Boy/My Girl (unless you are black, you sound like a loser referring to your friends this way, this is also different then putting the phrase "all the girls" or "the boys" or something referring to a large group under a picture.)
My BFF for every single friend you have (no obviously this person is not your Best Friend Forever if the last 5 friends you saw/talked about/took pictures with were your BFF! Pick one and even then can you just refer to them as your friend, or your good friend? Thanks!)
