Rodeo!

Every year Salina has a big rodeo as part of their 4th of July celebrations.
We haven't been for a while, but we decided to go this year
and I am so glad we did!

I loved it!

Almost everyone from my dad's family was there, including most of my family.
I love small town event's like this and I am so happy to live where I do!

Rodeo's are a blast
but definitely not for big animal activists...

Ha ha no worries though
no animals were hurt during this rodeo!

somehow Rosie fell asleep during it...

So funny yet so true...

I saw this list on another blog
and I thought I would share!

1. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

2. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

3. Was learning cursive really necessary?

4. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

5. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

6. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

7. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

8. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

9. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

10. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello?) but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

11. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

12. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

13. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

14. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

15. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

16. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

17. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

18. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. (or look at my phone, since I dont own a watch)

Newest playlist

Its been a while since I talked about new music
but you know me
and you know I love my music!

Lately I have been on a big country kick
I have always loved country
but many of my friends don't
so I don't listen to it that often
but lately I haven't cared!

I love the simplicity
the feel good lyrics
the sound of the guitar
and maybe a little bit of twang
but not a lot

Here are some country songs that I can't stop listening to:
  1. American Honey by Lady Antebellum
  2. Whatever it is by Zach Brown Band
  3. Unapologize by Carrie Underwood
  4. Neon Moon by Brooks and Dunn
  5. Boy Like Me by Jessica Harp
  6. Long Gone by Lady Antebellum
  7. Somebody Like You by Keith Urban
  8. American Saturday Night by Brad Paisley
  9. Kerosene by Miranda Lambert
  10. Gimmie That Girl by Joe Nichols

I promise

I will do better at keeping this more up to date.

No more overloads like today!

I will try my best!

Love you blends!

(blends: blog friends, stolen from Natalie)

I got one!

Remember what I said I wanted for my birthday?

Well guess what, I got one!

I love turning it on each day and listening to
my parents, and grandparents old records.

As well as a few I have purchased!

Best birthday present to date!

New Car!

In May I sold my car
and had to find a new one

Well I picked a 2004 Toyota Prius!

She is so pretty, and I am in love!

Little sneak...

One afternoon I rode up to my cabin
with my Dad to check a few things out.

While out on our porch we heard a noise in our grill
a Pot Gut was in it!

A Pot Gut resembles a Prairie Dog
and hundreds of, maybe thousands,
are out and about during June.

They are annoying little rodents that actually
are pretty smart.
They are not really scared of humans
so they are up on our deck all the time.

Some people think they are cute but

Personally though they bug...

June 1st

is a GREAT fantastic wonderful
blessed celebration type of day!

Why?

Because it is the birthday of:

Brigham Young

Heidi Klum

Alanis Morissette

Maryilyn Monroe

oh and ME!

Fishing

Over Memorial Day Weekend
I went to my cabin with my family.

While there some of us made the trip over to
Skutumph
(not sure how it is spelled...)

It was really windy
and kind of cold
but still fun

(Can someone please explain why my eyes always
do this in pictures? It is annoying.)

The only fish we caught were little ones
so we threw them back.

But fishing is always a good time!

My cute kids..

or my cute nieces and nephews
because obviously I don't have kids

We were enjoying a warm afternoon about a month ago
(when the weather was that perfect spring temperature
of warm afternoons and still cool in the evenings...)

and I took a few pictures of some of the kids.

I am no photographer
and really have no skill at it
but I like taking pictures anyway

Collin's face is messy
but he is so cute
and those big blue eyes kill me!

The next photos you can tell
that Shalane was not around...
Elise was eating the chalk
and we all let her
because she was so happy while doing so

Sorry Shalane!

And Brooklyn did not want her picture taken
until I said lets take them in front of the flowers
then she was quite the poser...

This one is really old

I was looking through pictures
and realized I never uploaded these ones!

These are from Easter of this year.

One of my favorite traditions we do for Easter
is to roll Easter Eggs!

Who wants to eat old hard boiled eggs
that have been colored all sorts of interesting shades
with stickers and other adornments on them,
when you can THROW them!

The following pictures are in no particular order...

Brooklyn's face in this is the best!

I get excited when I have a good one

And for some reason there are a number
of pictures where I am doing this...

OVERLOAD!!!

I have slacked this month.
As in seriously slacked.
I have a number of posts that need to be made.
So sorry for the post overload that is about to happen...
